My go-to movies for Christmas

Welcome to Day 2 of Blogmas. Below is a photo gallery of my favourite Christmas movies I wanted to share with you all. Christmas is taken very seriously in my home and as such the collection of movies I have whether they be on DVD or saved on a streaming service, get kept in their own space. When the decorations come out so do they.

My ultimate must watch movie is National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation which I have loved my whole life. I was 5 years old when it was released. This movie lives in the player over the Christmas period and I watch it almost everyday – I kid you not!

I have not yet seen Last Christmas starring Emilia Clarke but I have a feeling it will be amazing so I am getting ahead of myself and have added it to the list. It is still showing in the cinemas here in Oz which is a good sign that it is doing really well. Movies get ripped out of the cinema real quick here if they don’t make a decent impact in their first week. I will make an effort to see it either Wednesday or Thursday and I have some free tickets available on my loyalty card. Bonus!

My favourite TV Show is Schitt’s Creek and although not a movie, it gets a special mention (top middle pic). Season 4 episode 13 titled ‘Merry Christmas, Johnny Rose’ is a beautiful and funny episode. The ultimate episode where friends and family come together when needed during the holidays. This show has gone from strength to strength and has had some fantastic character development over the years. The brains behind the show, Dan Levy, decided to wrap up the show after Season 6, which airs in 2020. It will end on a high.

So, what movie doesn’t make the list? Love, Actually. People are obsessed with this movie and it depresses the hell out of me and I find it sad. I even watched it a second time to be sure. Nope it’s crap, actually.

Of course Die Hard gets a mention on my list. There are two kinds of people in this world – people who know Die Hard is a Christmas movie, and people who are wrong.

What are your favourite movies? List them in comments below and we can discuss

    1. I left off 4 Christmases! I haven’t watched Narnia in ages and I’ll have to see Daddy’s Home 2
